US launches air strike in Somalia
This one probably did not come out of the oval 'orifice', but in a great stroke of military opportunism, the US military bombed Islamist fighters in southern Somalia today. This has been a long time coming, not as a tool of revenge for the debacle in Mogadishu a decade ago, but as a way of waging a real war on terror.
